Inbound BDR, US

Linnworks-USA
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your Mission

Linnworks is a fast-growing, international SaaS scale-up, selling to ecommerce brands and retailers across the UK, Europe and North America. Our BDR team is the front door to our pipeline, and as an Inbound BDR you'll be the first person our inbound leads speak to.

Every demo request, content download and pricing inquiry lands with you. What you do in the first few minutes decides whether it becomes pipeline. You'll qualify leads, personalize every conversation and book meetings for our Account Executives, using AI to work faster and smarter than a traditional SDR.

The Inbound BDR position is an entry-level role built for people who want a career in sales. You'll get structured training, weekly coaching and a clear career path.

This role is open to candidates residing in either Easter or Central Time zones.  You must have the right to work in the US, as we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

Respond Fast and Convert

Speed wins on inbound. You'll own the first conversation and make it count.

  • Speed-to-Lead: Respond to inbound leads within minutes by phone, email and chat.

  • Qualify with Purpose: Use discovery questions to understand a prospect's channels, stack, challenges and timeline, and qualify against our ICP.

  • Book Great Meetings: Book qualified meetings and hand them to AEs with clear, useful context so the first call starts strong.

Make AI Part of How You Work

You'll be trained to use AI every day, not as a shortcut but as a way to have better conversations.

  • Research Faster: Use AI to research accounts and prospects before you reach out.

  • Personalise at Pace: Draft outreach and follow-ups with AI, then make them sound like you.

  • Capture and Share: Summarise calls, build and refine prompts, and share what's working with the team.

Grow the Pipeline Beyond the Inbox

When you're not on calls, you'll create more opportunities from the leads we already have.

  • Multi-Thread: Find and engage other decision-makers in inbound accounts.

  • Find New Accounts: Research lookalike accounts and warm leads that haven't converted yet.

  • Re-Engage: Follow up on aged and closed-lost leads where timing has changed.

Run a Disciplined Process

Good habits are what separate good BDRs from great ones.

  • Keep the CRM Clean: Log every activity and keep data accurate in Salesforce.

  • Own Your Numbers: Hit weekly targets for conversations, meetings booked and meeting-to-opportunity conversion.

  • Close the Loop: Give Marketing feedback on lead quality, messaging and what prospects are asking about.

Your Team

You'll join a mixed inbound and outbound BDR team across the UK and US, reporting to the BDR Manager and working closely with Account Executives, Marketing and RevOps.

What Success Looks Like

  • First 30 Days: You know our product, ICP and tools. You've shadowed calls, completed onboarding and started handling live leads with support.

  • By 90 Days: You're fully ramped, responding to leads within minutes, hitting weekly targets and using AI confidently in your workflow.

  • By 12 Months: You're a consistent top performer and your on your path to a flourishing career in Sales.

You'll be measured on qualified meetings booked, meeting-to-opportunity conversion, speed-to-lead, activity quality and CRM hygiene.

The Reality of the Role

To be transparent, this role isn't for everyone.

  • The Pace: Inbound moves fast. Leads need answers in minutes, not hours.

  • The Feedback: You'll get regular call reviews and direct coaching, so you'll need to be open to it and act on it.

  • The Rejection: Not every lead is a fit, and not every call goes well. Resilience matters.

What You'll Bring To The Role

Experience

  • 0–2 years in sales, customer-facing or target-driven roles. Graduates and career changers are welcome.

  • Evidence of hitting or beating targets, whether in sales, sports clubs, hospitality, retail, recruitment or elsewhere.

  • Some familiarity with CRMs and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo or similar) is helpful but not required.

  • Bonus: familiarity with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon) or experience selling to ecommerce brands.

Skills & Attributes

  • AI-Savvy: You already use tools like ChatGPT, Claude or AI sales platforms day to day, and you can show how.

  • Curious: You ask good questions, listen properly and want to understand the customer's world.

  • Coachable: You seek out feedback and improve quickly.

  • Driven: You're motivated by targets and want to build a career in sales.

  • Clear Communicator: You write and speak clearly, warmly and concisely.

  • Organised: You can manage a busy queue of leads without letting anything slip.
